EL Nido

CORON VS. EL NIDO WHICH ONE IS (TRULY) BETTER

Which one is better between the two popular spots in Palawan: Coron, or El Nido?

The two places have a lot in common – not just in terms of what there is to do at each one, but also in terms of pricing, crowds, and overall experience. If you can manage to spend 2 to 3 days in each, it will give you a chance to island hop in both places and get the best of both. However, if you are short on time, and can only afford to pick one, which is better when it comes down to Coron vs. El Nido? Watch this vlog to find out!

  1. Hi, your video was quite helpful 😊. I am planning my Philippines trip in dec and plan to do the el nido to coron expedition . Do you have a recommendation about which tour company is the best . I have been looking for 2 nights 3 days and I am confused about which tour company to go with (keeloma, buhay, outpostx el nido paradise etc)

  2. Shoutout from Vancouver! Missing the tropics. Thanks for this. It helped me weigh which one I should go — and decided to go for both😂 Hope I get to visit Philippines too soon! 🌴🇵🇭

  3. I was in El Nido last year. Love the island hopping on tour A. The canoe lagoon was great. I really liked the el Nido town to be at in the evening. And nacpan is a great beach to go to the next day after island hopping to just chill and rest.
The only way to El Nido is a 4 hour curving road from Puerto Princess. Most the of the tourist rent scooters

  4. I have stayed at both.
I much prefer El Nido. The town is more central to the beach and there's an overall more centralised atmosphere.
Also, you don't have freedom to explore on kayak on your own in Coron. But in El nido, you can hire a kayak right there on the beach and just head off on your own!! 😁

  5. We have visited both islands last month. As per our experience it's better to stay in Coron for hopping tours because we were less people in the boat (max 7-10 people) and the places we visited was less crowd, El Nido tours are always more crowded (20-25 people). But Coron has no beach in main island, El Nido has such amazing options such as Las Cabanas, Lio, Nacpan. I hope it will be useful for those reading this ♥

  7. Proud Filipino here…..That's why I'm teaching our own Tagalog(Filipino) language to European students and other nationalities. Try Punta Sebaring along Balabac that's the best beach for me Aim high Filipino People

  8. We been both el Nido and Coron and now we live here Coron for 3 years now. And for me I Will choice CORON. There is more to discover here and Not yet discovered, more white fine sand beach as in long fine sand good to relax and Not crowded called Marcilla, Alito beach and Lakdayan. Perfect to relax and chill and easy to access cause. Its only by land. Honestly we didn't see everything here yet for 3years. A lot of islands and also the highest mountain, Mt. Dalara. So beautiful 😍 we still improving coron and we still have more to offer.

  9. As a Filipino living in Europe, I would personally not recommend haggling. Even though prices are more expensive that you'd expect from a third world country, you should still remember these people are extremely poor and have likely no other means of income – even less so if you think about some other people probably get cuts (i.e., the hotel if they helped organized your trip). I speak from personal experience as I lived on a touristy island like Palawan and have friends whose families are in the business. Their prices are fair and just enough to support their families' BASIC needs that most of us in the west take for granted. I gladly pay whatever they ask, and this is coming from a normally cheap ass Filipino. So please, tourists of the developed world, bear in mind you are WAY WAY WAY more well-off than the locals are, even if you don't feel like it. Support their livelihood and don't haggle 🙂

  10. My experience in el Nido is very amazing.
There are wonderful corals and the secret lagun is my favorite
The rock formation is beautiful and hight that's why it's secret.
The tour guide will cook for you and drop you off in your own private place
    With no one disturbing.
It's not very crowded and I recommend el Nido than coron

  11. been to el nido and it was so beautiful everywhere you go and mostly on the main island i stayed in is somewhat lively and i like the people are so friendly… coron is surely my next adventure for the same 2 weeks in el nido… can't wait for now, really…

  12. wow amazing place and video, all going well, im off top Elnido & Coran Palawan, Cebu, Oslob and Apo Island next year … then my dream retire there… …:o)n thanks for sharing.. def something to save for… take care and best wishes.. stay safe..

  13. I loved El Nido but it was crowded and more expensive. I think Coron is better and I agree with your points here. I'll choose Coron over El Nido if I go back to Philippines on a holiday again

  14. Been to both, and I feel Coron is the best for my laid back personality. El Nido is too much of a spring break type vibe to me. Went during Feb. was told April/May is the best time to go for max sun

    Coron El Nido
    Coral Limestone cliffs
    Less crowded More amenities
    Laid back Active scene
    Private boat Social boat
