We booked our flight to Cebu, took the city bus then the long haul bus, a ferry from Hagnaya Port and arrived in Santa Fe after hours of transiting. But it was all going to be worth it as we discovered a more off-the-beaten-path island destination of the Philippines.
Though Bantayan doesn’t come up on many foreigners’ radars, we were so surprised to see how beautiful of an oasis it was! Sandra Beach was honestly the most pristine and massive beach we had come across in the Philippines despite Bantayan not being a small, remote island. Hopping over to the sandbars of Kota Beach and the gentle turquoise curves of Balidbid Lagoon were just a bonus of our time discovering this island.
